Inspiration

Take a look at the mission of the New Jersey Chamber Singers. The Mission reads as follows:

"New Jersey Chamber Singers seeks to engage, enrich, and inspire New Jersey audiences through the performance of high-quality choral music."

Today I want to focus on the word "Inspire". How have you been inspired by music? What performance left you quiet, holding your breath, not daring to let go of that beautiful moment? Or perhaps you left the concert hall singing a melody that continued to keep you awake all night! Maybe there was a particular music teacher who was particularly helpful in developing your love for music.

Take a moment to share with us what has inspired you musically! Also, please join us for our upcoming concerts to share in some beautiful music that inspires us.

  1. My love for music is in my blood I believe as there have been many musical people in my family over generations. When I was young my older sister certainly was instrumental in developing my interest in many types of music, and spent a lot of time with me singing and playing records together.

  2. I am inspired by listening to Gregorian chant in large cathedrals. There's really something awesome about hearing beautiful choral music in a large, old space like St. Paul's in London or King's College in Cambridge. Check this out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lC7V8hG198&feature=kp

  3. That moment when you're singing and the music just "clicks". The harmonies lock in. You get goosebumps. You look around at your fellow musicians or close your eyes and enjoy blissfully. This is the reason to be a musician.
